The Hebrew words r'fuah shleimah translate as complete healing or restoration of body and spirit. They are the essence of the Jewish Misheberach prayer said aloud in direct recognition of those in need, in pain, in suffering.

The fruitfulness of pomegranates, with seeds representing mitzvot, saturate this scarf for performer Mandy Patinkin, who I met with in 2024. This was inspired by his daily ritual of singing Hebrew prayers of healing and gratitude.
Sometimes one or two words of appreciation or recognition become part of a scarf.

When I asked the Roche employee paired with me for this project to describe her perfect day, she voiced the delight of a bike ride by telling me the scents of plants that flanked her path, and others that were favorites.
