Panther Chameleon by Beth Surdut
29.5" x 36" framed silk painting
A Panther Chameleon perches in a Banyan tree with red Skeleton hibiscus and green Monstera leaves. Belying the names, I think of rainbows when I see this adorable lizard, lace when I see these hibiscus flowers, and impressively large leaves on the vine. The frame is subtle with mottled tones of silver, with a soft white parchment mat and matching silver fillet. Under glass.

This wild #roadrunner walked up to me when I sang to him in October 2023 and at least one of us fell in love. Companionable and curious, Roadie comes to my studio door and waits for me to sit outside with him, sometimes for hours. On December 19,2025 Roadie allowed me to pet him!
That should tell you a lot about me.
